I overheard today a Graceworker (one of our volunteers who meet one-on-one with our clients to see how best we can help) talking to a young woman as she wheeled a shopping cart full of food out the door.
The young woman was gushing with excitement over the amount of food and she reached out to hug the Graceworker. As they hugged, the Graceworker told her, “You can make it on your own.”
I don’t know the young woman’s story, but the short exchange is an example of the kind of love and encouragement shown clients every day here. We often never know how the clients do after they leave our doors.
We hope that when we don’t hear from them again that they are doing better.
We can only pray for them. A lot of praying goes on here…
