Children Show Character, Compassion and Caring Through Volunteering

We are blessed to have students from area schools and churches visit GraceWorks and serve as volunteers. We often hear how the visit opens their eyes and makes them aware how they can make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.

One group of elementary school students recently sent us thank you cards after their visit. The following are a few of their unedited comments:

“You are such an amazing organization. What ya’ll do is awesome! Thank you so much for letting us serve there, it was a fun humbling experience.”

“Thank you for what you do. Organizations like you play a big part in people’s lives. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve with you.”

“Thank you so much for what you do for everyone, especially for the children. I wanted to thank you on a personal level because I used to have to use fuel bags. Most of the time, on the weekends. I would be hungry. My birth mother refused to get things for me. So every chance I could get to go to school, I did. I was anemic for a long time & the fuel bags helped! P. S. Love what u do!

“Thank you for letting us learn about your organization. It gave me a feeling of joy after serving you.”

“Thank you for helping those who are less fortunate have clothes on their backs and food to nourish themselves.”

“I was glad to know I was serving other people. It filled me with joy!”

“Thank you so much for letting us have the opportunity to come and serve. I know everyone really appreciates what you do.”

“I dearly appreciate be able to help you employees help others, because helping others is not only a gift to them but to me.”

These students are seeing how much they get when they give. We thank them for serving their community by volunteering at GraceWorks and sharing their thoughts with us.
