CYT Nashville and GraceWorks Ministries Team Up To Fight Hunger

Christian Youth Theater Nashville will present Lionel Bart’s “Oliver!” Nov. 3-5 at J.T. Moore Middle School, 4425 Granny White Pike.

As this production deals with the plight of childhood hunger, CYT Nashville is partnering with GraceWorks in collecting food items for Fuel Bags. Fuel Bags are bags of nutritional items given to students for the weekends who qualify for free/reduced lunches on school days.

Show times are 7 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4 and at noon and 4 p.m. Nov. 5. Tickets are available at cytnashville.org or at the door.

Anyone bringing a food item from the following list will receive a Sonic gift coupon and one free raffle ticket that can be applied to any of three baskets. All items must be in individual sizes. Items needed are shelf-stable milk 8 oz. (not powder milk), microwavable meat meals, canned meat, cereal, macaroni and cheese, pudding cups, peanut butter, raisins or fruit snacks, Vienna sausages, Ramen noodles and apple sauce or fruit cups.

No child should have to sing:

“Food, Glorious Food
What wouldn’t we give for
That extra bit more
That’s all we live for
Why should we be fated to do
Nothing but brood on food
Magical food,
Wonderful food
marvelous food,
Beautiful food,
Food, glorious food, glorious food.”
