#GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world, is today. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
After two days for getting deals—Black Friday and Cyber Monday—#GivingTuesday is a day for giving back.
In 2015, nonprofits raised more than $117 million online on #GivingTuesday to help make the world a better place in countless ways. Much more was generated offline and through donations of time and other resources. People participated in #GivingTuesday activities in 71 countries around the globe.
GraceWorks Ministries invites those who would like to help support our mission of providing immediate and long-term resources to neighbors in need to visit our website and learn about programs, such as The Manger, which creates a “store-like” environment for families in need to choose their own gifts.
The Manger takes place this year from December 8-16 at Church of the City. Last year, it served 880 families. Money donated is used to purchase gifts to supplement those donated at GraceWorks and all Toys for Tots locations in Williamson County.
When making an online donation to GraceWorks, donors may earmark their gift to a program they choose. These include other important programs such as the Food Pantry, Holiday Food Boxes and Rent & Utility Assistance.
There are also other ways to give. GraceWorks relies on donations of clothing, furniture, food and more along with those who can give of their time as volunteers.
