First-ever Ride the Vines cycling event set for April 25

It’s been a hard winter. Come celebrate mid-spring with a charity bicycle ride through picturesque eastern Williamson County.

The first-ever Ride the Vines cycling event benefitting GraceWorks Ministries will begin and end at the Arrington Vineyard entrance on Patton Road. The ride will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 25. Open to novices up to experienced riders, cyclists can choose between a 20-mile or 50-mile route.

Each rider 21 and older will receive a special bottle of wine that commemorates the event. Under-age riders will receive a collectible souvenir. Whole Foods will cater a brunch after the ride.

Early registration until April 23 is $52. Participants can register beginning at 6:45 a.m. the day of the event for $62.

A special entry is available for participants who wish to donate an extra $48 to help support struggling Williamson County families. For $100, Founding Partners will receive one ride entry and be named on the GraceWorks website and on a banner displayed the day of the ride.

Started in 1995, GraceWorks served Williamson County neighbors in 2014 with 40,906 needs valued at $3.5 million. GraceWorks’ 20 programs include family support, hunger prevention, seasonal needs and education. $1.1 million was given in food in 2014.

More information and registration is available at ridethevines.org.
