Middle School Drive Away Hunger Challenge Sets New Record

The results of the 3rd Annual Drive Away Hunger Challenge are in and a record 51,735 pounds of food for the pantry at GraceWorks was collected.
Woodland Middle School is our grand prize winner for the most pounds collected with a whopping 31,197 pounds and Freedom Intermediate School is our grand prize winner for highest average weight per student with 16.565 pounds per student. Both schools were our grand prize winners last year and will hold onto the official DAHC trophy for another year and receive $1,250 in prize money for their efforts.
Other notable mentions include Freedom Middle with 2,637 pounds, Poplar Grove with 2,098 pounds, and Fairview, Mill Creek and Page with over 1,000 pounds each.
Along with the Drive Away Hunger Challenge between 10 WCS High Schools and 19 FSSD & WCS Elementary Schools, a total of 131,318 pounds of food has been collected for the GraceWorks Food Pantry.
